Enter your location and lawn size. Get a data-driven pre-emergent schedule, fertilizer calendar, live product pricing near you, and one-click Google Calendar integration.
Case study
This tool was designed, prompted, and shipped by Nicholas Putz to solve a real problem in a weekend. Here is the case study behind it.
The problem
Most lawn care advice is calendar-based — "apply in early spring." But crabgrass germination is driven by soil temperature, not the calendar. A homeowner in Milwaukee and one in Nashville need different application dates, even in the same week. Buying products at the wrong time wastes $100–250 per season and leaves bare patches through summer.
The approach
Lawn Intel pulls 16-day weather forecasts from Open-Meteo, estimates 2-inch soil temperature using an air-to-soil conversion model validated against UW-Madison Extension research, then uses Claude to generate a location-specific application schedule. Product recommendations include live local pricing searched by AI in real time.
The result
Any homeowner can enter their location and lawn size and receive a complete, data-driven application calendar — with one-click Google Calendar integration — in under 30 seconds. No account. No marketing funnel. Just a useful tool that demonstrates what AI-enabled product development looks like in practice.
The takeaway
The same methodology — real-time data + AI reasoning + clean UI — applies to commercial real estate lease calendars, marketing campaign schedulers, product launch checklists, and hundreds of other business use cases. If your team has a workflow that lives in spreadsheets or memory, it can probably be a tool.
